For right now I would play the stock game and get a hang of how things work. Tomorrow after you've got your new puter up and running, go after one of the supermods. My suggestion would be either
TMO wth training wheels or
FOTRS v1.3.
Both have environmental mods and good sounds in both of them. Later as you get accustomed to things you can add to taste, so to speak. You do have v1.5 I'm assuming?
