SH3 Commander *corrects* the erroneous US rank labels of the original game.

The stock game uses:
Quote:
160=Seaman
161=Senior Seaman
162=Chief Seaman
163=Warrant Officer
164=Senior Warrant Officer
165=Chief Sr. W. Officer
166=Sub-Lieutenant
167=Lieutenant Jr.
168=Lieutenant Sr.
169=Lieutenant Sr.
170=Lieutenant Jr.;Lieutenant Sr.
171=Lieutenant Sr.;Lieutenant Commander
172=Lieutenant Commander;Commander
173=Commander;Captain Jr.
174=;Captain
SH3 Commander uses (which is as close to correct as the game will allow):
Quote:
160=Apprentice Seaman
161=Seaman 2cl.
162=Seaman 1cl.
163=Petty Officer 1cl.
164=Chief Petty Officer
165=Warrant Officer
166=Midshipman
167=Ensign
168=Lieutenant (j.g.)
169=Lieutenant (j.g.)
170=Ensign; Lieutenant (j.g.)
171=Lieutenant (j.g.);Lieutenant
172=Lieutenant;Lieutenant Commander
173=Lieutenant Commander;Commander
174=;Captain
If you think you *really* are an Lt (j.g.) then you're wrong. You *really* are an Ensign.

However, if you're not happy then:
a) Set the "Rank translations" option in SH3 Commander to "German" (I *think* you are using German rank labels???). The German labels were corrected by the devs in patch 1.3 or 1.4b, using teh original fix that I provided for RUb and SH3 Commander;
b) edit SH3 Commander's "\Cfg\ Menu static.txt" file and change the 160-174 labels back to the stock SH3 game ones, if you want US rank labels;
c) don't use SH3 Commander.

Also, don't forget that there are other mods that adjust the rank labels too. I am aware of at least one (can't remember the name) that erroneously includes a rank to the detriment of a correct one. You must also consider this with the mods you have installed, especially if any of the above three options do not "fix" the problem to your liking.

One thing though, SH3 Commander will not remove player medals nor will it demote you (apart from the aforementioned US rank label realignment). Again, mods change this aspect, so you will need to review what you have installed.

Personally, as an aside, if you are going to continually install every mod you find here carte blanche, then I wouldn't recommend using SH3 Commander until you are happy that you have everything running comfortably. PLEASE remember, not all mods are compatible with each other. You should install and test, install and test, install and test, paying PARTICULAR attention to the associated readme so that you know what you are getting. Then if something goes wrong you're more likely to pinpoint the problem easier. Don't just install, install, install. You'll never pinpoint problems and in the end the only fix will be a total reinstall of teh game.
