I´m finding duds seem to come in bunches. I´ll get 2 or 3 in a row then none for a while. I also find that the more of a right angle shot the less likely it duds. Just wait til you get the torpedo which appears to go right through the target, that is quite annoying. Seems to happen with destroyers quite a bit.
