I found a hardcover copy of Richard O'Kane's
Clear The Bridge at my local thrift store today for the princely sum of $1.99. The book was in shockingly good condition, and it looked like it hadn't been read before. I opened it up, and what did I see on the first page?
I'd be totally lying if I didn't start trembling right there in the middle of the store. I pretty much stopped shopping and made a beeline right for the checkout. Nobody was going to grab this treasure when I wasn't looking. To think, I now own the signature of the most successful American submarine captain of World War II, and it cost less than the price of an ice cream cone!
