Sorry to hear of his passing. George could play just about any role and he had a commanding presence as was said here. He played a great role in the movie, " Airport " He was also great playing opposite Leslie Nielsen a.k.a, Lt. Frank Dreben. George was also in the movie " Earthquake " opposite Charleton Heston.
George also served 16 years in the U.S Army.
George Kennedy won an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his performance as dragline in " Cool Hand Luke " opposite Wayne Rodgers as most know as Trapper John Mcintyre in the M*A*S*H series who also passed away last month and of course Paul Newman.
