Description

Hello. I've recently reinstalled SH3 and started looking for any new mods which i would like to add to my original mods list. I came across an interesting discussion whose subject was the number and type of torpedoes that U-boats received as their main armament before leaving port and how to simulate this, in-game. Two other members, Marcello and La Vache, provided two documents which were actually the real standing orders issued by U-boat's Headquarters in April & November 1944 respectively, pertaining to the torpedo armament of almost every type of Uboat. The result was a GWX based small mod made by Wreford-Brown to be applied via SH3 Commander. The mod though is not compatible with Options 2 & 4 of OLC's Combimod simply, because, OLC modified the basic.cfg file - which WB used for his mod - by integrading the "Longer Repair Time v2.04" (or LRT v2.04) mod. So, i performed the easy task of incorporating WB's work to OLC's. Thus, WB's mod is now made available for use with OLC's Combimod. U-boat types affected are IIA, IID, VIIB, VIIC, VIIC/41, IXB, IXC, IXD2 and XXI. Users must now be aware that 3 of the 6 fore torpedo tubes of type XXI U-boat will be empty as they were in real life for maintenance purposes.

Compatibility

This mod must be used with Option 2 or with Option 4 of OLC's Combimod ; thus, you must be playing a GWX "Gold" (v3.0) career with SH3 Commander. Likewise, if you have the LRT v2.04 mod installed as a standalone mod, you can enable this mod. Nevertheless, whichever condition applies to your case, before enabling it, make sure that none of the other mods you may have installed, alter the basic.cfg file which is located in <Drive Name>:\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\cfg. If there is a conflict you'd better contact me or the corresponding author of the conflicting mod.
