Have had this discussion numerous times.
1. When the civilized countries (as they saw themselves, with all those colonies) plundered other civilizations, for money, art and what not, this was just en vogue, and no one cared.
2. Then there was a counter-movement, saying bring at least the archeological items and works of art back to the place where they belong (or better: were stolen). Well, it did not last long and there was almost no reaction.
3. But when i see how those uneducated buggin' morons like Daesh or others destroy historical sites because they do not fit in in their world view, i wonder if it was not better to put those things in museums very far away, so they at least survive those DAESH and other morons.
(3.a) DAESH sold and sells a l(o)ot of valuable smaller historical items to private collectors of our own civilised countries
(3.b) as i read and heard, alot of iraq museums were plundered, during the liberation and
democratising of said country. By the liberators, of course.
If not for raping women and killing children, genocide of Kurds and generally being just uneducated and dumb, the destroying of historical sites alone would make me grab a rifle and go down there to shoot some of those idiots myself. I'm too old for the military, but !"§$%&/(
(4. Welcome to Subsim, McLaren)
