Actually the scariest thing about that movie (Capricorn One) was it had OJ Simpson in a starring role.

I guess we can wait until Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter departs for the moon in a couple years. That orbiter will have high resolution cameras and it's slated to photograph the landing sites. I don't think it'll be able to resolve footprints except perhaps under certain lighting conditions but it will be able to see many Apollo artifacts such as the descent module.

Of course, the hoaxers will believe its all faked but there is no convincing some people. It reminds me of what happened when the Mars Global Surveyer took high resolution images of the "face" on Mars, proving it was just an eroded mountain. The true believers couldn't accept that and kept dragging out the same over-processed low resolution images with their precious "face." Then there was another claim NASA had nuked it from orbit to prevent us from knowing alien civilizations are real.
