Default Siege in Mali

Almost a week to the day of the terrorist attack in Paris France, there has been yet another senseless attack in Bamako , the capital of Mali.

Quote: Gunmen stormed a Radisson Blu hotel on Friday morning in Bamako, the capital of the West African nation of Mali, seizing scores of hostages and leaving bodies strewn across parts of the building. Officials in Mali confirm at least 20 dead. The Radisson Blu Hotel is a favorite with foreign travelers.

Mali is a former Colony of France and France led an offensive in 2013 that resulted in Islamic militants being ousted but remmneants of this force remained. Hundreds of French soldiers also remain in the country.

Quote : It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the attack in Mali. Al Jazeera reported that it had received a recording asserting that a local militant group, Al Mourabitoun, had carried out the siege in conjunction with Al Qaeda’s regional affiliate, though the claim could not be independently confirmed .
