Q: What color is the SR-71 Blackbird?

A: Blue.

The specific shade of dark blue was used to both increase the thermal increase the emission of internal heat and to help the aircraft be less visually observable at high altitudes. Black aircraft are actually more easily seen when flying.

So why was it not called the SR-71 Bluebird????

There had to be a reason why they were not allowed to call it the Bluebird
