In what is likely the first government lawsuit over Volkswagen's deception, Harris County officials claim that 6,000 diesel cars circulating on local roadways produced harmful emissions.

Which is laughable considering that pick ups don't even fall under the car emission laws and are a frequent sight on US roads with much higher emissions. Double standards at their finest (not to defend VW here but to claim that their Diesels are harmful is a joke considering the fuel consumption and emissions of trucks, pick ups and V8s that get 10 mpg).
