G'day guys,
Just a quick question - how do you, in a sub, deal with Enemy ASW surface units?
I ran a test, in a Flt I LA SSN, against a
Jiangwei II frigate. He ran a barrier back and forth and I was sitting on the bottom at 0 knots, right under him (in 200 ft of water).
He ran over me a couple of times; I wasn't detected - but when he was right over me again, I came to 150 ft and 2 knots to follow him, I was detected straight away (I was using scripts to let me know).
Question is, what are your tips for dealing with ASW frigates? Do you keep your distance - even on EMCON?
How can you get past a FF "barrier" to do other sneaky stuff? Also, what's the safest range against a FF who is using active sonar?
