Fahnenbohn, mate: The world of subsims have to consider that manning a real submarine is a multi-person task, and bringing it down to a "one-player" control isn`t possible without some adjustments. That also goes with the models, and the way they are behaving. All of the things that happens in-game has to be balanced between how real it could be, and the size of the end-product that you buy to play. Even in the world of flight sims you get pretty realistic, but not as realistic as a multi-million dollar simulator setup at a flight training facility. Sure, it would be nice to have a submarine simulation game sporting about 800 terrabytes, costing the consumer 40000 dollars to buy, but it would kill the excitement of playing. And, not to mention the realistic chlorine gas from the damaged batteries after a heavy depth charge barrage! (Canister not included, must be bought separately)
And: Remember, there are some AWESOME modders out there, who constantly improves each game! They spend their time and effort making the game better for you and me, and they share it without cost.
