Anybody got one of these?
My dad brought a cuckoo clock home, I suppose from Germany, when he left the Army. As kids we thought it was a wonder. Now I have one of my own (the old one disappeared when my parents left it with a crooked clock-repairer) and it's a good deal nicer and older than theirs; we bought it around 2000 and were told then it was 100 years old.
Seems most people had a cuckoo clock when I was a kid. Now they sell ugly fake plastic ones with digital sound-effects.
We hear cuckoos around here every Spring; I saw
five all at the same time one year, some on a telephone wire while others were flying nearby.
