Thanks guys for the warm "pierside welcome" after being metaphorically at sea for a year and sustaining battle damage, it warms the heart, your kindness!
Betonov ( you're a good bloke ). My wife died nearly 5 years ago and I've been looking after our 3 cats. The elderly female ( 14 ) was one of those new Persian breeds with the pushed in face ( we got her from a shelter because according to her breeder she wasn't pretty enough to sell
) Anyway the older she got the more difficulty she had breathing, and things got to the stage where the vet had to send her to join her "Mum".
The male, a ginger tom, got a very aggressive form of cancer last year and was sent "home". There's only one left now, a female Himalayan, a beautiful cat but with a very strong personality. I had to foster her out to a girlfriend whilst I was recovering.
It's good to know you're a fellow animal lover.
