which translates
"the Devil's a squirrel"
which means that something bad usually sneaks in undetected?
The red (European) squirrel was a symbol for the devil in the middle ages.
It is true that the Devil sometimes takes the form of a squirrel.
Is it this where the Eichhörnchenmania is coming from?
