I love the Alfa class. always have, speed is life although they were not really used in that way. But I feel like the RA mod still has a ways to go on that particular boat.

1) My boat was once crushed at 500m. Even conservative estimates for the Alfa put test depth at 350m which implies a crush depth of at least 700m. Optimistic claims for the Alfa put max operating depth at 700m with crush depth beyond 900m. As I understand it these were fairly deep diving boats that were restricted to 350m for longevity sakes, not concerns of strength. Titanium is high maintenance.

2) Even when I change the database to give it a deeper crush depth, the boat still cavitates happily to beyond 900m. I understand it has a 5 blade prop but this boat cavitates far, far too easily. I once held a little experiment. I don't remember the depth but my finding was that the Akula can run something like 30 knots while the Alfa can only run 18 knots, at the same depth, before cavitating.

3) Can engage surface targets with snapshot ONLY using SET-65. Once had small surface target (british mine hunter) receive 3 SET-65 torpedos before sinking.

4) Alfa would run happily at 41 knots but could go to 44-45 knots for short periods. This is important because 41 knots is a great transit speed but when a torpedo is inbound every spare knot counts for the duration of the escape.
