Hi Peter.
I have just noticed your Avatar change. What disgraceful things are you up to in maturity? Lol.

I have never in the past 2 years ever considered that the number of mods activated is the primary concern where my past CTD's were concerned. my main emphasis has been in trying to achieve what we all strive for and that is compatibility of Mods with each other .

No doubt about it, the amount of RAM associated to your graphics card is very important to smooth running of any game, more so in SH5, due to the intense demand upon the card placed by certain combinations of activated MODs.

Therefore having tried firstly, over the last 2 years to arrive at a mod list that suited my tastes, I then went on to try to find the best listings to suit both my requirements and importantly, that of my system.

My computer was previously used for both business and pleasure, the former taking into account graphics design, which i used extensively without any problems whatsoever.

The list that I now use I do not consider numbers to be a main governing factor whatsoever, it is the TYPE and COMBINATIONS of activated MODS working together that to me, is the governing factor. Hence I have tried my best where possible to follow layout and listings comparable to those tried and tested by people such as Sobers, Fi-Fi etc;etc, as they have been there and have the Tee shirts for doing so.

To all of those gentlemen I am most grateful for showing the way.

My current list is working at last without CTD's and smoothly enough. Yes, we are bound to have occasional CTD's when playing such an energy resourceful game and yes there are still improvements to be made in certain MODS, no doubt, however, my present list WORKS at present.

Do you remember the CTD's I continually received when trying to access either the Dover Straits and entering Scapa Flow? GONE. Reason, graphics problem, I therefore tried to rid my setup of the more intensive color demanding mods and find a balance across the board that personally suited me and worked. So far I have achieved what I set out to do and I am in and out of Scapa & Dover Straits like unto a busy Bee.

No doubt about it, Peter, my setup would benefit from a change of graphics card with more RAM/Gpu. Trouble is, if you up your spec on graphics cards you have to follow through on several other up-dates as well, power and possibly Motherboard. I am using DDR2 which would be better if it were DDR3 etc.

No doubt in time, I will adjust these problems, however, not at present. Latest project was to change my 2x512GB drives to 2x 2TB drives and added a NAS unit for increased space.
