Ok, getting back to Wilhelmshaven doesn't present any problems with fuel consumption in Mission 1 of Aces.
One thing about playing SHII with this old computer: to prevent a CTD, I must run my video card at medium color (16 bit) rather than high (32 bit).
Another thing: I tested the depth capability of the VIIB during the Training Mission 3. I made it to 160 meters safely, so this is fine. I hope I can actually get through a few of the Aces Kampaign missions before something unfortunate happens.
