...playing U-Boat Atlantic campaigns in SH4/OM and SH3/GWX3, as well as U.S. Pacific campaign in SH4/TMO...and waiting anxiously for LSH3_v6!
Gave SH5 a try, but even with the wonderful fixes and improvements by a very dedicated and talented modding community, it was still too much of an "arcade" style game (score the required points and move up to the next level...blah blah blah).
The dynamic campaigns in SH3 and 4 still seem to be the best at simulation of the submarine campaigns of WWII (even allowing for the near-terminal boredom occasionally experienced with TMO/RSRD
).
I just wish Ubi, or anyone, would take the best features of all three of the latter SH series and make a "definitive" sub simulation to cover the entire spectrum from WWI through the end of the "Cold War". But, I also wish for 'world peace' and the end to hunger, disease and suffering...seems it just ain't gonna' happen.
