You don't have to complete any of those missions. The game doesn't know the difference.

And there won't be. You're better off going home after each patrol. It was very rare to spend more than two months at sea. If you've ever been cooped up in a warship you'll know why. It's even worse on submarines.

The good news is there are no records, at least not of that type. You might get in trouble for not sinking enough ships, but never for not completing a mission. Many of the missions are totally unhistorical anyway.
