I'm just extrapolating of course, there's no real evidence to back that up either. Still, even two incidents like that in recent memory, it's a lot. Something certainly ought to change to prevent it from happening.
I think part of the tragedy is also the tarnishing of the good name of airline pilots as a profession. I'd hate it if all these recent incidents build up a public distrust and fear of what's otherwise one of the world's most responsible professions
