Hi Urge ... I picked up a contact maker this past weekend. I figured it to be for a general alarm but not positive on that. It says on top:
Cease Firing
Contact Maker Type M-IV-S

Under the brass lever, are the numbers: 9-S-4812-L

I was told it came off a WWII ship but that's all he was able to tell me.
