Yes Alien 3 extended cut/assembly cut has a better flowing plot as well less gaps.
I have not seen it years but I have a book Gigers Alien very cool its all artwork from Alien and bits from his journal. An interesting bit the eggs "mouth" the original design looked to much like a (body part that also doubles as a name for a cat) they told Giger to change so he made what you now see. Its a cross he said that Christians won't complain about seeing a cross but they will get upset seeing pu... wrist watch.
Of course he used the shape of the wrist watch and also the rolling pin in much of his work.
