I heard someone say that the flag resolution doesn't become high quality until your right on top of the ship(1000m-2000m). Would be interesting to find out how far away you'd have to be in real life to identify a ship's nationality.

I normally shoot from 500-700 meters, never further than 1200m if I screw up the approach. The flags are visible abit further than 2000m but it's hard to tell the English from the danged Norwegian flags at 2500m.
