It probably won't be fatal. In the unlikely event she actually gets the job, her actual position will be more of an "idea person". The assistants and bureaucrats will be doing all the real huffing and pushing. If a really dangerous idea comes up, the bureaucracy would be able to slow it down until she can be taken out of office.
