The term is Anchors a-weigh. The point at which the anchor first has weight applied to the haul rope or chain. Olden seadogs loved to add 'a' to words and created most nautical terms in the process.
IE: A-stern, A-shore, a-sea, a-wash, aboard, a-shole, a-ground. etc, etc
ad nauseum.
