Unfortunately, in some areas like North Virginia both parents usually have to work and this is especially true with young couples.
I just don't know who some young couples can make it in this very expensive area.
Working two jobs is not as uncommon as it used to be.
Good thing that live goes on nicely even if you do miss these events. As long as you are there for the kid as much as you can, they will thrive quite nicely.
