Second what Keelbuster said. I prefer the Atlantic approach to Gibraltar (west of the narrows), because it's easier to get into a good position since it funnels traffic into a smaller area of water. I think it pays to creep in towards the Straits, stay submerged in the deep water, and listen at All Stop. Come up at night to recharge and get a blow, then down again to listen.

The worst thing is hitting both, but not slowing either down. Heartbreaking when that happens.
And what else is heartbreaking is finally getting a good report from sonar, racing into position just in time, and putting up the scope just in time to discover that you can't see a bl**dy thing in the rain/fog/dark. Ok, I confess. I F-12'd and flew over to see what I was missing (1 Illustrious, 1 KGV, at least 1 Dido and 1 Fiji). >SOB<

For tonight we'll merry, merry be,
But tomorrow we'll be sober.
