Do you have the Fix French mod enabled?
There is a bunch of add-on mods that come with GWX. Some of them should only be used under specific conditions. For example,
GWX - VIIC41 Player Sub (which only affects the external boat graphics) should be activated if you are playing with a VIIC41.
Check the GWX manual. There is a description of each mod, including when it should be used. Some are obvious from their names (
Black Sea Campaign Only), but others not so (
GWX - Axis Mediterranean Aircraft Skins). The tendency is to take 'em all. (There are no "optional" rules!) But it doesn't work with GWX.
