Question for the group:
I'm playing with LSH this time (I used to use GWX). When I see a ship contact now, on my map/plotter it automatically shows blue for German, green for neutral, and red for enemy (Poland and UK since I'm still in 1939).

I remember I used to have to close and get positive ID on the flag -- and that sometimes at night the neutral ships would be running full lights, while the combatants were blacked out.

Is there an LSH setting or mod that will do add the "unknown" factor to the ships so that my plotter doesn't immediately tell me if they're friendly or enemy?
Hey BROJD,

There's a discussion about map contact updates here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ontact+updates

I noticed there's a mod from Frau Kaleun at the end of the discussion, but the link doesn't seem to work.

Anyway, maybe that'll point you in the right direction?

EDIT: Just realised the discussion's around GWX but maybe there's some useful info there anyway?

As an amusing sidenote, I'm on my second patrol and on my way out to the Atlantic diverted to report on the position of a Task Force moving fast towards the Norwegian coastline. I found them, and as I turned and ran, radioed their position whilst under a hale of shells. But they were gaining and I had 120m under the keel so I figured our best chance was to melt into the deep. After being pummelled by over 30 depth charges, they left me to it and continued on their very fast way. After conducting repairs and drifting to the surface we radioed in again. BdU chastised me for not being courageous enough! - Silent Hunter III is awesome
