Not to mention the fact that the US Electoral college system discourages many from voting, because the states they live in are already "spoken for". If it had been a nationwide popular election for Prez, Kerry would have won in a landslide.  Not that a popular presidential election will be happening any time soon, it is clearly to the disadvantage of the GOP, everyone having an equal say. |
Just to say there is an old joke in Scotland people are so thick if Labour puts a pig up as a candidate, with a Labour flag on it, in a safe Labour seat. The pig would win in a landslide vote. That one goes back to the 1960's and still is the case today.
