The GOP still doesn't have a chance the way theyre going. When your most vocal members are also the most backwards and insane, voters stay away. When your actions suggest you forgot to take your medication today, voters stay away. When you devote yourself to being an obstructionist, including being the all-time least productive congress in history, voters stay away. When you call for mass amounts of "poll watchers" to intimidate voters into not voting, which oddly enough affects democrats the most, voters sure as HELL aren't going to vote for you.
The GOP leadership is chalked with ultra conservative dinosaurs who still live in the 1960s. Its quite evident how detached from today many leaders seem to be. Until that changes, the GOP will continue to lose the presidency. Presidents, more so than any other elected official, are intensely scrutinized and observed. That's why Mitt romney lost, that's definitely why McCain lost (thank god), and thats going to be why the GOP is going to lose in 2016. The other thing about the GOP is that it seems to discourage competent, moderate, middle-ground runners. If their stance takes a middle ground, they dont want them. If they are willing to actually compromise, they dont like them. mitt romney seemed to take much more moderate stances on things before he was in the running. But as soon as he became the republican candidate, the GOP pressured him into their way of doing things, and any semblance of moderation went out the window. Not to mention, all these dinosaurs from both parties like to indoctrinate their children into their way of thinking, while simultaneously not giving the YOUTH and middle-aged in this country the time of day in their policy-making. Senators who have held their seat for 30+ years need to get evicted so the people who are ACTUALLY going to be around when these policies take effect can decide what happens to this country instead of 80 year old men on their last leg who still like to believe its 1960.
Hillary Clinton lost the primary before. I dont think shes gonna win again assuming she runs. Unless a democrat candidate can out-crazy the GOP, its going to be another 4 more years of democrats in the WH, and of course, another 4 years of obstructionist congress unwilling to consider nor work with each other. Its going to be the same old same old. I just wish we could all be independents so this petty tribalism stops. i just wish both parties didnt act like 5 year olds. Its really pathetic when 50+ year old men fight like kindergarteners. Although its extremely improbable, i hope politics in this country matures past this era of obstructionist tribalism.
