She has been an American Citizen for almost 20 years. For such mundane things as National Security and fighting Wars, her loyalty is clearly with the United States. But she confessed that for the really important stuff, like the world cup, her loyalty is with Germany.
For many, the World Cup is at the importance level of life or death. For some, it is much more important.
I try to maintain a position of neutrality. I just like watching the game.
Too bad the game is in the middle of the day. I will see if I can get some space to take leave that day. Unfortunately, we have no provision for watching it at work.
