I have all the different versions. The 'Original, Uncut Version' is, as Jim quoted, 4 hours 53 minutes long, an hour and a half longer than the 'Director's Cut', and it's all movie. The 'Uncut' version is in my opinion the best, even though the 'Director's Cut' has slightly better sound and picture quality. It includes many scenes of the crew interacting with each other, including a humorous "false alarm" dive, which may or may not have involved an actual airplane. There is a lot more character development, especially where 1WO is concerned. In this version he is not the rabid nazi he seems to be in the shorter versions, but rather a troubled and confused young man who joined the navy and the party because it seems to be what everyone is doing, and he just wanted to fit in.

Altogether well worth the money.

There is another "Steel Book" Version which has 3 discs blue ray and is 357min (!) long?
Never heard of it. Do you have a link?

[edit] Never mind, I found it on Amazon.de. It appears to be the recent Blu-Ray release which includes the Director's Cut (208 minutes) and the original Theatrical Release (149 minutes), which does indeed total 357 minutes running time for both versions.

[edit 2] The 'Original, Uncut Version' also includes a running narrative by Leutnant Werner, not seen on any of the other versions.
