I prefer to be average. That way you're not expected to be extraordinary and will only shoulder the load you can handle.
People who excel in the classroom tend to think in a linear fashion and will bang their heads on a problem repeatedly. Thinking that it will change the result. I think that's also the definition of insanity.
4.0 is not better than 3.8.
