Hitler's vision was for a European bloc dominated by Germany, with North Africa and the Middle East under the control of that bloc primarily through Italy. He also wanted to excise Bolshevism and secure Lebensraum, so the European part of the Soviet Union had to go.

There is no evidence of his wanting war with the United States, provided it did not seek to dispute German control of Europe and neighboring areas. If the United States was content to confine itself to domination of the Western Hemisphere, there would be no need for war with it.

However, Hitler suspected that the United States would challenge German hegemony, and that is why he wanted to build up sufficient military strength to see off any such challenge.
