It is odd to recall that in the UK 'Question Time', 'The Today Program (Radio 4)' and the news, of course, seemed so important at the time! I'm not saying it doesn't matter, or that I don't care for the terrible plight of the UK and Europe generally. But we saw it coming way back in 2004 and managed to get out by 2009. Just really happy to be gone.
We are Australian citizens now, and news from the UK is distant, infrequent and doesn't matter a damn. Wierd how things can change.

My father had six siblings and five of them emigrated to Australia and New Zealand in the late sixties/early seventies which means I've a lot more family down under than in the UK, they and their children have all done well for themselves and I sometimes wonder if I should have.
