I've marked a ship's location that is sitting dead in the water and then gone off to chase the convoy it came from. I have returned along the same bearing to finnish it off only to find the ship gone and no credit for sinking it. |
Even though it was dead in the water, I assume the game models damage crews for enemy ships as well as our own subs. So it's possible that the ship still sailed off, even though you had damaged it. Lots of folks on this forum have reported getting credit for sunken ships that were out of view at the time, so we must assume that something different happened in your case.
