The “Snorkel” is in TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer”
I think it is the 1st tab!
You will see all the available U_boats.
You can change them all or individually.
You will get a thumping great lump sticking out of your conning tower.
This will restrict your left view.
At “Snorkel Depth” make sure you are running on “Standard Propulsion” (Yellowed)
In bad weather you will find the “Batteries” will kick in and out.

This is how I Installed TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer with the mod "Enabled"
Go to your "Mods Folder".
“TDW’s File Option File Editor Viewer” is inside “TDW’s NewUI Base Mod”.
Right click the mouse on the “Base Mod” (i.e.7_4_2) and “Open” it.
Open the “Data Folder”
Open the “Application Folder”
Open the “OptionFileEditorViewer Folder”
Open the “Application” “OptionsFileEditorViewer”
Open “File”
Click on “Set path to menu.txt”
Click on “Menu” (This is the last file)
Open “File”
Click on “Set SH5 install path”
Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.
“Ok” it.
Go to “File”
Select the first “Open”
This will show the .py “TheDarkWraithUserOptions”
Double click on it and this will open up the “Editor”
You should now see a row of “Option Tabs”
Make your changes. (These changes should made in the bunker)
To “Save” your changes.
Go to “File”
Select “Save”
“Ok” it.
Except all prompts.
The first time you “Save” You may be taken to the “Menu” py files. If this is the case you select the py file that is the last file in the list.
“TheDarkWraithUserOptions”. Click on it and select “Save”. You will get a “Save” confirmation.
Although it is recommended I have never done this in “JSGME” with the mod disabled.
If you wish to do it this way.
With the mod disabled.
You right click on it and select “Explore”
This takes you directly to the “Application Folder” As shown above.
Follow the above instructions from that point.
When I make changes when the mod is “Enabled” I always reset “Set path to menu.txt”
If you are running "Steam" you cannot enable "Decks Awash" as it also needs to be enabled in "TDW's Generic File Patcher"
You may also have noticed that when you went to the “Applications Folder” there was also in this Folder:
The “JSGME Mod Validator” File Folder.
Click on this and then click on the “JSGMEModValidator” “Application”
Select “SH5”
If you want to find the path yourself then click on “Yes”
Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.
“Ok” it.
The “Validator” will now start to work and you will see all the “Enabled Mods”.
It will show if the mods have been installed correctly.
It will show “Determining Each Mods Conflicts Conflicting Files”.
This is shown by using the codes “D – A – W – S”
You may again also have noticed that when you went to the “Applications Folder” there were also in this Folder:
The “SH5 Validator” File Folder.
Open the “SH5Validator” “Application”
Select “SH5”
“Ok” it.
If you want to find the path yourself then click on “Yes”.
Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.
“Ok” it
It will “Validate” the following:
Countries
Classes
Campaigns
Saved Campaigns
Roster
Def
When the “Validation” has completed if it has found any “Errors” you can review “The Log For Errors”
“Errors” are denoted by leading “*********”
You will then be offered to “Generate a Log File”.
“Ok” to generate one.
This will allow you to give the “Log” a “File Name” of your choice and also where you want to put it.
“Save” it
You will get a “Confirmation” “Save Created Successfully”
“Ok” it
This is held as a “Text File” that you can then view the status of all the files that were logged.
