One of my favorites too. I saw the remake, which was my introduction to Viggo Mortensen, and I had to ask myself what the point was. Then I realize that
was the point - there was none. They gave the remake a point, a cause. The orignal was all about pointlessness, and a point was the last thing it needed.
Same for
Gone In 60 Seconds. The remake was a much better movie technically, but it also destroyed the meaning of the story.
