On my first patrol I sank a large tanker , took 5 fish to finish her off , on prematured and two ran under her, sank small coastal with what I consider to be the strangest shot ever , set the fish to run at 8m and fired from 179deg astern { had already pummled the ship with deck gun } and the torp ran true..but it hit the rudder , dropped down about 2m and continued to run under the ship and took her out { watched all this through the pop up window }
Finished my patrol by taking out a large cargo, two fish ran deep { didn't notice that the ship was sitting high in the water } so I used 115 deck gun shells over two hours to sink her. sailed back into port with a mere 19550t of merchant shipping...now for some fun , second patrol starting Feb 41....
