Unrestricted submarine warfare is a violation of the London Naval Treaty. It's true that the Kriegsmarine was, more or less, unconnected with the war crimes committed by other branches of the German armed forces during WWII. However, saying that the Germans, or the German armed forces as a whole, abided by the Geneva Conventions and other international laws during WWII is a provably false claim.
