With the ClayP's Optics mod I didn't change the stock keyboard mapping....so what you have, is what you'll get. That's too bad because I could have mapped a key so you could go directly to the conning tower free move camera. As it is, to get free movement in the conning tower, you have to mouse click the hatch from the command room to have the camera change to the free ct room.
Yes, you can get out of trouble if you use the Command Room key "F2", but the problem with that is the camera you left behind in the "Out of Sectors" position will stay in limbo until the game is restarted. That's the problem with having the Free Movement capability. If you wander off too far outside the 3D environment, you're going to get lost. One thing you can do to get back is to reverse your course in movement. If you walked straight out through a wall and find yourself "Out of Sectors" in pitch black.....reverse course by backing straight back. This will put you back into the 3D model.......most of the time. Another thing to do is "Don't go through walls"!
I wouldn't use the right click to return to a previous view either. Think of going to a different view by stroking the keyboard, or mouse clicking a focusable hatch or object. Just remember wherever you leave the previous camera view, that's where it will stay until you return.

Yes, that's what I thought. The games 1.4 version is pooched for the dials in the Gato/Balao conning tower. It's little wonder this wasn't spotted earlier (probably was, but most folks went to version 1.5 and the issue was moot by then).
I'm working on a fix for my Optical Targeting Correction 1.4 modification. Along with some other things I'll add, I'll try to get it out soon.
