You must have a mod installed, or some part of one left behind, because the stock SH4 version 1.4 does not have the "F" key mapped to anything.
Look at your Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific main game folder. The jpeg image (SH4_Q_Ref_card_Front.jpg) of the keyboard doesn't have anything mapped for the F key, the R, G, H, and a couple of others either.
Just not sure why your install would have a functional F key...... besides having a mod installed or a file left behind.
That's why I asked about the Gato/Balao conning tower helm dials. With my patched 1.4 game, the conning tower for the Gato/Balao (both use the same 3D model interior....the file is found in Data/Interior/NSS_Gato/
NSS_Gato_CT.dat) have a Creation date (actually its the Modified date if you look at the "Properties" of the file) as 11/7/2007 @ 3:33pm. This file creates blank dials for the Gato/Balao conning tower:
My 1.5 version of the game has the same NSS_Gato_CT.dat with a created date of 11/29/2007 2:23pm (just 22 days later) and the file works fine, with displayed dials in the 1.4 version of the game!?!
I know there are screwy things with the game that not everybody see's (one guy see's something that another guy who uses a different game resolution won't).....I'm just wondering if there are different patched 1.4 versions floating around?
