Possible answer
I installed my copy under Win7 (not from GamersGate, rather Amazon) with default path settings, and to find the launcher icon for the game, I can go to the All Programs button, then look for the Games folder, click that folder icon and then I'm able to see the SHIV icon. Once you click it and launch the game, after you are finished playing you may find that Windows has created a new icon for the game in your main application menu. If you like you may then pin this to that menu and it will always be there within easy reach. Another alternative is to right click your desktop and chose New from the drop down menu, then shortcut, and find the .exe file from the game, then add the shortcut to your desktop. To do this you will need to browse the files on your hard drive with some idea where to look, depending on the path you set for the installer. C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific is mine. Find the .exe file in that folder, and select it, and the new short cut will appear on your desktop.
