dude, you can't think like this. I have a 2000$ PC, its on my desk for serious work and gaming.
these consoles are under 500! You can't find me a single PC under 500 that even approaches these consoles in gaming performance. I think about it completely differently now:
wanna play the shooter on a couch with a buddy? I go to my console. Wanna play a casual racer? I go to my console. Wanna watch some NFL or MLB on the weekend? I go to my console. When my favorite team is losing, I'll just pull out madden and demolish their team, or start up mlb the show and knock in a few home runs.
understand that PC and consoles are competing with a different market. There is no point just saying "my PC is better" all the time, there are use cases where consoles are objectively better
PCs are better with RTS games and Simulators, they are objectively better, no need to argue. But consoles are objectively better with sports games (Madden is console only, MLB the Show is a sony exclusive, Fifa is objectively better on next gen consoles with the new engine), fighting games (my favorite Dead or alive is console only. Sony All Stars and Super Smash Bros are exclusive for their consoles), and anything from Japan (PC gaming isn't big there).
PCs and consoles are a different experience for me. Even with all the recent developments since the late 90s to move PCs into the living room (tv tuners, ir remotes, windows media center, controller support, Steam big picture) pcs are still a "desk thing". I would go to my pc for some serious gaming by myself, but if i want to play with friends on a couch, console is still the way to go.
