The Maximum range of the Hydrophone is 30km, and you get that when about meter 40 meters deep.
And they already have some mods like the "Sort of IX" Uboat mod, this gives your sub the specifications of the IX boat (Not visual, you keep the VII sub but with changed specs) and the IX carries 22 torpedoes (You can only change the 14 as normal, rest are steamers)
