Remember folks, politicians are a different species.

The act of being elected mutates DNA at chromosome level. Homo Horribilis

It could be your friend or family member, once elected they're not who they used to be. The sooner you get used to the idea of ramming a stake through their eyes the better.
When you have a process of elections where the liars, the sweet-talkers, the unscrupulous, most of the time win because they tell the people what they want to hear, you have a system then that rewards immorality. And when those knowing the bitter truths and offering nothing but tears and blood, stand no chance for people do not wish to hear that, and when the alternative to this is violent regimes where the dogs with the, longest fangs claim power - what else do you expect to get?

How could you get anything else than right what we get in abundance...?

What we get is right what we deserve. Because we follow the rules that make certain that this and nothing else must be the outcome, necessarily. The game is corrupt., The rules corrupt the players. Those few not allowing to get corrupted, get crucified or stay isolated and impotent.

So, politics do not "change politicians' genes". Its exactly the other way around. "Changed genes" are a precondition for entering the political arena. Those few the may qualify as exceptions form the rule, remain powerless and uninfluential, and sooner or later get eaten. My sympathy is limited. When you swim with the sharks in their very own pool and play the game by their very own rules, you need to expect that you sooner or later get bitten.
