OMG I think I AM converted already! It IS different thinking in feet. I haven't even started to look at the equipment, other than staring at out the periscope..Looked at the AOB instrument but .. well let's just say I have LOTS to learn now!!!

I'll say it again, that engine SOUNDS like a diesel!!!
The equipment is a little different...but not too hard to figure out.

I recommend using the keyboard commands instead of setting a depth manually. You might brain-fart and sent the boat to the wrong depth at the wrong time.

As far as the engine goes....I love the sound too... I love how you can hear it start up when you surface and you even slow down a bit while they start up.

And there's even modeled exhaust smoke.

But if you want to play a sub sim with wicked awesome sound, invest in a copy of Silent Hunter 2, and then invest a bit more and donate to subsim to get the Pacific Aces mod. It's an old game...but that mod has some of the best sound in a subsim.

SH4 is good though. I think you'll have loads of fun with it.

Another question about the radio and gramophone. I dumped a few files into each folder. Do these play randomly or in some order? I see the radio is somewhat selective, looks really cool to add stations!
Dump the files into the gramophone folder.

As far as the radio goes, I haven't messed with it. It's too hard to add a new station. The radio already has a good station that reports news about the war. I'm not sure how to change/add music to a station

I just use the gramophone. I have a bunch of 40's music loaded in there.

It's fun.
